Rachelle Richard, 78 of Sant-Grégoire has passed away at the Dr Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Sunday September 27th, 2009, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was married to the late Adelin Richard (2003). Born in Cocagne April 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Pius and the late Eva (Landry) Cormier.
She leaves to mourn her three children, Marthe Richard of Sainte-Foy, Québec, Jean-François of Moncton and Stéphane of Windsor, NS, two grandchildren, Emilie and Ian. She also leaves to mourn two sisters, Juliette Gaudet (Ulysse) of Moncton, Ethel Cormier-Maillet (Oscar) of Saint-Grégoire, and one brother Ulysse (Donalda) of Moncton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter Claire (1964) and one son Guy (1977).
Prior to her retirement Rachelle was a Kindergarden teacher for 18 years in Bouctouche. She was also involved in several committees in her parish and surrounding area.
Visitation will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on September 30th from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 9 to 10:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine, on Thursday October 1st, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
In Rachelle’s memory donations can be made to the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital Oncology Centre.
