Ralph was known for his genuineness, his humility, dedication and integrity. A founding member of the Moncton Hospital Foundation as well as Chairman of the Moncton Hospital Board, he held leadership positions on boards of the YMCA, the Red Shield Appeal, NB Nursing Association, Moncton Community Living, the Alzheimer’s Association, Moncton Headstart and many other charities. Unselfishly recognizing the need to help others, he worked with the underprivileged in Moncton, often behind the scenes.
Many of his lifetime achievements did not go unnoticed, as he was the recipient of nine community recognition awards including the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, the Canada Volunteer Award and the Order of Moncton. As a professional chartered accountant, he served the City of Moncton as auditor, as well as the Province of New Brunswick as Auditor General. His many clients, both large and small, had great respect for his counsel.
Ralph was also a tireless worker and supporter of his church and assumed numerous leadership positions. He loved being ‘on the door’ and greeting folks as they arrived on Sundays. Walking through St. George’s, there are so many projects and memories of Ralph’s labour. He preferred to work behind the scenes, quietly and humbly, for God’s glory.
Visitation will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church (51 Church Street, Moncton), on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church (51 Church Street, Moncton), on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11 am. Reception will follow in the church hall.
