In Loving Memory Of
Raymond “Pete” Roy
1947-2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond “Pete” Roy, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, who passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Delphis and the late Madeleine (Gautreau) Roy.

Raymond will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and strength, and for the way he always made those around him feel cared for and supported. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his family and friends. He also loved going for his drives several times a day, a simple pleasure that became such a familiar part of his daily life. Above all, some of his most cherished moments were simply those spent with the people he loved.

Raymond leaves behind his beloved wife, Mireille; his daughter, Julie (Luc); his adored grandson, Sam; his three sisters: Rita Dollemont, Lydia Green, and Anita Sirois; and his three sisters-in-law: Jeannette Roy of Kitchener, ON, Delia Roy of Moncton, NB, and Louise Roy of Moncton, NB.

He was predeceased by his five brothers: Lionel, George, Junior, Gerald, and Clifford, as well as two infant siblings.

Although his absence leaves an immeasurable space in our lives, we are deeply grateful for the years we shared, the memories we created, and the love he gave so freely. His strength, kindness and devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive condolences at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts. <3

  6. Pete has been a friend for many years…. we worked together and traveled together … he used to be a big fan of the old guys singing country… listening to that and drinking his warm diet coke… he was a very nice man… a true gentleman…. he talked a lot of his wife and daughter and at that time he didn’t have a grandson which I am sure he loved so much….. Pete had a big personality and I know Pete will be missed by many…. he was a great guy…. the best!!!

  10. My deepest sympathies to Mireille, Julie, Luc and Sam on your loss. I know he thought the world of all of you. I was so fortunate to have as my Godson and for the past two years I really got to know the beautiful human being he was as he drove me to all my appointments and grocery shopping. He was a selfless person always thinking of others’ needs ahead of himself and always with a smile on his face. Rest in peace, Pete, and have the eternal life you so richly deserve as God’s faithful servant.

  13. Dear Mireille, & Julie:
I worked with Raymond when we lived and worked out of the Moncton ITL office, where he was a great support. After retirement we lost track of You and Pete. However, we were always impressed to know he had a successful tourist and shopping travel business… he definitely had the personality and skills for such adventures..We are sorry for your loss.

  15. Dear Mireille and family,
I began my career with ITL way back in 1980 and I still remember my first meeting with Pete at the office orientation. My first impressions were all the things you noted in his obituary. A gentle man, a person always ready to help friends and colleagues, always smiling, and a man who deeply loved his family. Our collective memories of him will live forever. What more can any man ask for.

  16. Pete était un ancien collègue de travail pour plusieurs années lorsque je vivais à Moncton dans les années 1980. J’ai que de bons souvenirs de lui, une bonne personne aidante, remplie d’humour avec un grand plaisir d’aider les gens.
    RIP Pete 💐

  17. Dear Murielle and Julie…….please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband and father.
