In Loving Memory Of
Régina Cormier
1915 - 2023

Dieppe, NB – Régina Cormier passed away peacefully at the Albert House surrounded by her family on August 17, 2023 at the age of 108.

Born on May 17, 1915 in Saint-Edouard-de-Kent, she was one of 13 children and was the last surviving member of the Maillet family.

Régina leaves behind her daughter Gloria Arsenault (late Pierre) of Caissie Cape, daughter Huguette LeBlanc of Grand Barachois and son Raymond Cormier (Pierrette) of Moncton; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

She is now reunited with her parents (Donat and Évangeline Maillet), her 12 brothers and sisters, her late husband (Aquilla), son (Roger), son (Jean-Guy), daughter (Géralda) and great grandson (Rémi). We know this was a joyful reunion with lots of hugs and teasing words.

Régina was a volunteer and member of the Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe for many years. Her hobbies were bowling, darts and playing cards. She enjoyed the summers at her cottage in Caissie Cape with lots of card nights with close friends. She looked forward every year to a visit for her birthday from Faye, Pat, Sandy and family and Bonnie and her family all from New Hampshire.

She was one of the first residents to live at l’Auberge du Soleil at the age of 93. It did not take her long to find a new hobby, that of quilting. She made many quilts and baby quilts that many have been enjoying for years.

Régina will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her joie-de-vivre, wisdom, teasing way, sharp thinking, good health, longevity and the fine lady she was. She was always interested to know how her whole family was doing on a weekly basis; no doubt, she will be watching over them. The family feels grateful to have had her by their side for so long.

Sincere appreciation for the exceptional care provided by past and present staff at l’Auberge du Soleil and the compassionate care and support provided by all at the Albert House.

A private funeral service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment in Saint-Anselme parish cemetery, Dieppe.

In memory of Régina, a contribution to the Albert House or the Tree of Hope Foundation would be appreciated.

The family invites you to sign a book of condolences at: www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca.

Arrangements under the professional care of Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative and Cremation Center, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, E1A 1G1, 506-857-1901.

Mom & Dad (Cail & Marie Breau) we’re close friends of Regina. From the stories we heard Regina was a special lady. They had a lot of fun together at their Community Centre in Dieppe, dances, community suppers, card playing events & so on. Regina was known as a hard worker, she had a strong spirit for life, a lady that was respected by all. May she RIP
