René Cormier, 95, of Richibouctou-Village, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, on Thursday November 2, 2023. He was married to the late Delia (Maillet) Cormier (1988). Born in Richibouctou-Village, he was the son of the late Alexandre and the late Catherine (Richard) Cormier.
He was a welder with the NB D.O.T. for numerous years.
He will be sadly missed by his three children; Gisèle Doucette (Isidore) of Richibouctou-Village, Guy (Corinne) of Moncton, Bernard (Rosa) of Richibouctou-Village, his three grandchildren; Marcel, Cynthia and Mélanie as well as four great grandchildren; Jessy, Kory, Mylène and Simon. He also leaves to mourn one sister; Leona Babineau of Richibouctou-Village, one brother; Eric of Shediac and several nephews and nieces.
René was predeceased by two sons; Guy in infancy, Roméo, four sisters; Louise, Céline, Rita, Anita and five brothers; Henri, Gerard, Zoël, Joseph Eric and Yvon.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village on Sunday November 5, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Monday November 6, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Richibouctou-Village Church on Monday November 6, 2023 at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery.
In René’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
