Renée Normandeau Arsenault

(1946–2023) Moncton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renée Normandeau Arsenault, aged 77, on Sunday, May 21st, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Albert House Hospice in Moncton. She was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Fernand Normandeau and the late Simone Normandeau (Jaillet).

Renée is survived by her loving husband, Donald, her daughters, Janelle (Monique) and Annick, and her beloved grandson, Patrick. She is also survived by her brother, Pierre-Marcel (Brigitte), and her sisters, Paula (Paul), Nicole (Denis), Lynn-Andrée, and Paryse (Anne). Renée will be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law, Yvette (Jim) and Louise (Bob), her brothers-in-law, Yvon and Maurice, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Renée was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Michel (Debby).

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her daughters, and a caring grandmother to her grandson. Her kind-heartedness extended beyond her family as she was also a cherished friend. Renée was an extraordinary woman who was deeply loved. Her passing has left a great void in our lives, and we will miss her tremendously.

Renée used to rise at dawn, tended her outdoor flower and plant gardens meticulously, and immersed herself in detective novels. Family evenings spent sharing meals and playing board games were another source of great happiness for her. Additionally, her long-standing friendships, some spanning over 50 years, held immeasurable significance in her life.

Throughout her career as a nurse, she was known for providing exceptional quality care to her patients. Starting in the emergency department of the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital (CHU Dumont), she later continued her path at the office of pediatrician Dr. Gabriel Léger, where she maintained her commitment to high-quality care. Renée retired after many years of service at the Villa du Repos. Her passion for healthcare and unwavering determination to offer exceptional service were a precious source of comfort for her patients, inspiring confidence and gratitude among all those who had the privilege of receiving her care.

The family would like to convey its sincere appreciation to Dr. Hubert Dupuis for his exceptional medical expertise and unwavering dedication, as well as to nurse Christine Lafrance for her attentive and compassionate treatment while Renée was at home. Additionally, the family extends its gratitude to the personnel at Maison Albert Hospice House for the support and assistance provided in the past weeks.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and to 7 to 9 pm at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB. (506) 857-1901. A celebration of Renée’s life will take place at the same location on Friday, May 26th,2023 at 11 am.
