It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhéal Gautreau, 83, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
Born in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Alban and the late Adéline (Melanson) Gautreau.
Rhéal will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Stella (LeBlanc) Gautreau; his son, Maurice (Tina), both of Bouctouche; his daughter, Suzanne Cormier (Mario Belliveau) of Cocagne; his cherished grandchildren: Sébastien, Alexandre, Codey, Ghislain, Jasmine, and Karisa; and his precious great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Anelle, and Gaël. He is also survived by his brothers: Francis (Janice) of Shediac, Maurice of Dieppe, and Dollard (“Johnny Cash”) of Memramcook; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends.
Known for his fun-loving nature and wonderful sense of humor, Rhéal especially enjoyed playing the card game 200.
Besides her parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers: Pius, Raymond and Jean-Guy.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste for their exceptional care and kindness.
Visitation will be held at Passage-Maillet, 29 rue de l’Église, Bouctouche, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. A funeral mass will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church in Bouctouche.
Donations in memory of Rhéal to the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste would be greatly appreciated by the family.
