In Loving Memory Of
Robert Thébeau
1947 - 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Thébeau, 79, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with his family by his side at Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent.

Born in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Éloi and the late Emma Thébeau (Léger).

Robert will be sadly missed by his wife 48 years: Aline Thébeau (Goguen); his daughters: Diane Surette (Gérald Basque), Cécilia Bastarache (Réal) both of Cocagne and Nancy Goguen-Haché (Serge) of Lincoln; his brothers: Jean-Guy (Aurore) of Florida, Léo (Jeannine) and Fernand “Joe” both of Mass; his sisters: Carmelle Hope (Gerry) and Claudine Thébeau-Jolly (Treffle) both of Mass; his sisters-in-law: Ann and Norma both of Mass; his grandchildren: Bionca (Adam), Ricky, Alexandre (Nathalie), Nicholas (Josée), Solange, Magalie, Maïka and Makayla; his great grandchildren: Dax, Olivier and Wyatt; also by his in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons: Francis and Ronald; his brothers: Paul, Daniel and Emile.

Robert was truly a jack of all trades, someone who loved fixing things, building, and working with his hands. No matter what challenge life placed in front of him, he always seemed to find a solution and a way forward. He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling, and was happiest when keeping busy or lending a helping hand. Caring, dependable, and always willing to be there for others, he was the kind of friend you could count on. His kindness, resourcefulness, and generous spirit touched many lives, and he was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered not only for all the things he could fix and build, but for the way he helped, cared for, and brought people together throughout his life.

Visitations will be held at Passage (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge) on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 5:30 pm until time of funeral chapel at 7 pm.

Donations in memory of Robert can be made to “Pépére Boîte à Lunch” for the Camille-Vautour School of Saint-Antoine, St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital for the great care provided.
