In Loving Memory Of
Roger Basque
1949 ~ 2022

Moncton, NB- Roger Basque,72, of Moncton passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022.

Born and raised in Moncton, he was the son of the late Charles and the late Maria (Vautour) Basque.

Roger will be sadly missed by his loving wife Joanne Basque, his two daughters: Rachel (Brent) Middleton and Janice (Robert) Hachey both of Moncton; his five brothers: Robert, Ronald, Gerard (Rita), Vincent (Nancy) and Paul Basque; his sister Patsy (Richard) Apthorp all of Moncton; his two grandchildren: Amber and Nathan who he loved more than life; and several nieces and nephews.

He will also be greatly missed by his best friend of 62 years, Eugene Cormier of Moncton.

He will be remembered for his huge heart and his gentle soul. The love for his family was enormous and we always felt it. Thank you for leaving us with beautiful memories that we will cherish each day and for loving us unconditionally. Until we meet again high on top of that mountain.

Roger was predeceased by his nephew Stephane Basque.

**Note that due to Covid-19 regulations, proof of double vaccination, government issued I.D. and masks will be required at the entrance of the funeral home.

Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton, on Friday, February 25th, 2022 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm.  In respect to the family’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger’s memory can be made to an organization or charity of your choice.

  1. Joanne, I’m so sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. He always made me laugh and knew he’d want to tease me about the Montreal Canadiens every time I saw him. My condolences to you and your family.
