Moncton – It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, better-half, brother and friend, Roger Duplessis, on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in Baie-Ste-Anne, NB, he was the son of the late George and the late Isabelle (Martin) Duplessis.

Roger worked as a handyman; he was well known as a local comedian, having won the Hubcap Comedy festival in 2002 and in 2009. He made several comedies shows at l’Auberge of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital for cancer patients. He enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar.

He is survived by his better-half, Leola Boudreau (her son, Stéphane Melanson (Sylvie Gautreau) and his children: Lexie and Izaak); his children: Richard Duplessis of Moncton and Nicole Allain (Michel) of Dieppe; his beloved and precious grandchildren: Sébastien, Zachary and Lexie; his brothers and sisters: Télésphore (late Jeannine) of Miramichi, Elias (late Délima) of Bouctouche, Edmond of Dieppe; Georgina Lirette (late Albert) of Moncton, Grace Tardif (Pierre) of Dieppe, Isabelle Allain (Jean) of Bouctouche Bay, Margie Freeborn (Mike) of Riverview and Jerry of Baie-Ste-Anne; the mother of his children, Clara Mazerolle of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and friends, Roger loved animals, especially his beloved cat, Tina.

He was predeceased by his brothers and his sister: Mélas, Arthur, Aubé, Roseanne, Marc and John “Jack”.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination, government ID, mask will be required, funeral home and chapel can only operate at 50% capacity.

Visitation will be held from Passage – Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (506-857-1901), on Friday, February 11th, 2022, from 2 pm until 3:45 pm. Funeral will be held from the chapel at 4 pm, it can be followed online at: https://www.facebook.com/PassageFH.

A donation can be made to CARMA or to the Moncton SPCA.

    Nos plus sincères sympathies à toute la famille. Roger était un homme qui avait toujours un beau sourire et plein d’humour. On garde de beaux souvenirs de Roger lorsqu’il racontait des “jokes”, il aimait faire rire les personnes. Il repose maintenant dans les bras du Seigneur. Il est en paix. Bon courage.

Roger was one of my favorite cousin ,always there when I needed something , specially when I was in Hospital would always come by bring me goodies him and Leola ..will miss his phone calls every second weeks or so he use to call and we would talk for 30 minutes or so ,,,you will be miss ..Love Minda

  35. J’ai eu le grand plaisir de communiquer avec Roger, à plusieurs reprises, lorsqu’il venait présenter des spectacles à Plage de l’Aboiteau de Cap-Pelé. On a tellement rit, il était très comique et plaisant, un vrai Bon vivant !!! Je garderai de précieux souvenirs de Roger qui a beaucoup fait rire les gens, quelle belle thérapie !!! Il vous manquera sûrement beaucoup. Je vous offre donc mes plus sincères condoléances et sachez que mes pensées vous accompagnent durant cette épreuve difficile.
