In Loving Memory Of
Roger Gauvin
1936 - 2022

Moncton – Roger Gauvin, age 86 of Moncton and formerly of Irishtown, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, May 16th, 2022.

Born March 31st, 1936, in Dover, NB, he was the son of the late Albert and Andréa (Bélliveau) Gauvin.

Roger was employed with CNR for 38 years, retiring in 1991 in a supervisory position. He played hockey with the Dieppe Roosters for over 20 years, which he thoroughly enjoyed, even though one of his teammates affectionately joked that “when Roger is on the ice, we are a man short”. He enjoyed playing golf, coaching minor hockey, was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Club d’Âge d’Or Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. Roger was a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and former parishioner of Saint-Lawrence O’Toole church, Irishtown.

Roger will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Irene (Richard); son, Paul (Ginette) of Irishtown; his daughter, Annette of Moncton; his grandchildren: Céline (Zack), Mario (Emily) and Denis (Valerie). He also leaves behind sisters: Jeannine (late Gerry), Bernadette (Albert) and Loretta (Wilfred); his brothers: Gerald (Doris), Leo (Jeannette), Normand (Doris) and Raymond (Jeannine).

In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his sister, Félice (late Cléophas) and brother, Jean-Paul (infancy).

The family would like to thank everyone including the extramural nurses for their support.  A special thank you goes to Dr. Peter Stoddard.

Visitation will be held from Passage – Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm only.

Funeral mass will be held from Saint-Lawrence O’Toole RC Church, Irishtown, NB, on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at 11:30 am.

A donation can be made to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
