Born in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Alyre and the late Anna (Bourque) Maillet. Roger was a sailor with the Merchant Marine for 10 years and worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He was avid bowler and he took pride in being the Captain of his bowling team. As a hockey player, he played for the Bouctouche JC’s. His family ties meant the most for him in his life. Roger was very proud of his vegetable and fruit garden.
Roger will be sadly missed by his wife, Eveline Maillet; by his daughter, Charline Maillet (Paul Chase) of Saint John, NB; by his sister, Marie Bernard (Vincent Bernard) of Fredericton; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Ola, his three sisters, Sara Connolly, Léona LeBlanc and Robéa Bourque, his two infant sisters, Sara and Léona, his infant brother, Albéo.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Monday, November 7th, 2016 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 from 12:00pm to 1:45pm. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Fonds de Bourses de Grande-Digue” or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
