Roger Melanson

Roger Melanson, 80, of Cocagne, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, on Tuesday December 19, 2017. He was married to Jeanne (LeBlanc) Melanson. Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Emile and the late Jeanne (Allain) Melanson.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jeanne, his two children; Anna Babineau (Richard) and Robert (Rachel) both of Cocagne, his three grandchildren; Jennifer, Shawn and Mélanie and three great grandchildren.
He also leaves to mourn his six sisters; Jeannita LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Julia LeBlanc, Anise Melanson (Diane) of Cocagne, Rosella Surette (Bernard) of Grande-Digue, Thérèse Dupuis (Freddie) of Notre-Dame, Lorraine LeBlanc (Léo-Paul) of Moncton, his five brothers; Philippe of Moncton, Louis (Bernice), Maurice (Anne-Marie), Léo-Paul (Bernice) of Cocagne and Jean-Claude (Huberte) of Saint-Antoine as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one sister Marie, one brother André.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Cocagne on Friday December 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Saturday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday December 23, 2017 at the Cocagne Church at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery.
In Roger’s memory, donations may be made to the CHUDUMONT Foundation.
