Roland will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Victorine (Bourgeois); Three sons: Victor Aucoin (Jane Boyd-Aucoin) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Robert Aucoin (Sarah Hutchison) of Toronto, and Jean-Paul Aucoin (Jenn Wood-Aucoin) of Dublin, Ohio; Two brothers: Gilles Aucoin (Marie) of Chéticamp, and Réal Aucoin (Claire) of Mississauga; One sister: Gisèle Chiasson of Moncton; Six grandchildren: Rebecca (Jake), Brynn, Emma, Olivia, Isabelle, and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews.

Roland began his career at the Royal Bank in Chéticamp and later was transferred to Baddeck. Eventually his work brought him to Sherbrooke, Quebec. While there he was hired by Shell Canada as a credit card representative. In 1969, Roland took on a role with Shell Canada as a credit card fraud investigator, a role which would shape the course of the rest of his career. Roland acted as Shell’s sole investigator and police contact for all of Canada. He also held the title of the Membership Chairman of the Central Canada Chapter of the International Association of Credit Card Investigators. Throughout his 27 year career as a credit card fraud investigator Roland also gave lectures at the Toronto Police College for courses on fraud and assisted the Toronto Police Service in creating films on fraud which were shown to students as well as local businesses. Roland retired from Shell Canada at the age of 52. He then worked in security at the Hudson Bay Company for several years before moving to Dieppe, New Brunswick with his wife Victorine in 2000.
Roland will be remembered for his never-ending sense of humour and his love for his family and friends.

I can picture Roland sitting at the dining table in the house on Gainsborough when I picked up Barb or Chris after work. He loved to tease them even chasing them with his false teeth!! He and Vicky provided the welcoming “home away from home” I wanted for my kids for many years. Blessings Roland May you be at peace.
