Roméo Comeau, 76, of Foyer Saint-Thomas, Memramcook and formerly of Champlain Street, Dieppe, NB, passed away on Saturday, December 14th, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Val-Comeau, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and the late Julie (née: McLaughlin) Comeau.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Comeau was head custodian at Mathieu Martin High School and security guard at both Dr. G.-L. Dumont Hospital and Université de Moncton.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine (née: Poirier); five sons: Acquila (Jacqueline) of Edmonton, AB, Raymond (Geraldine) of Dieppe, Daniel of Scoudouc, Eugene (Linda) of Moncton and Martin of Scoudouc; one sister, Lodia (late Arnold) Cormier of Dieppe; three sisters-in-law: Charlotte and Mabel, both of Val-Comeau and Jeannine of Shediac; six grandchildren: Angele (Jason), Melissa (Duncan), Jessica, Amanda (Eric), Rene (Megan) and Jean; seven great grandchildren: Janelle, Logan, Rene, Grace, Jetta Lynn, Duncan and C.J., as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six sisters: Ella, Alphonsina, Maggie, Angelina, Louisa “Lee” and Rita and also by five brothers: Gilbert, Peter, Clement, Wilfred and Romeo.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Wednesday from 10 am until time of departure.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

À sa résidence de Memramcook, le samedi 14 décembre 2013, à l’âge de 76 ans, est décédé Roméo Comeau. Il demeurait au Foyer Saint-Thomas, autrefois de la rue Champlain à Dieppe, N.-B.
Né à Val-Comeau, N.-B., il était fils de feu Charles et de feu Julie (née McLaughlin) Comeau.
Avant sa retraite, M. Comeau était chef concierge à l’école Mathieu Martin ainsi que gardien de sécurité à l’Hôpital Dr G.-L. Dumont et l’Université de Moncton.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Catherine (née Poirier); cinq fils: Acquila (Jacqueline) d’Edmonton, AB, Raymond (Geraldine) de Dieppe, Daniel de Scoudouc, Eugene (Linda) de Moncton et Martin de Scoudouc; une soeur, Lodia (feu Arnold) Cormier de Dieppe; trois belles-soeurs: Charlotte et Mabel, toutes deux de Val-Comeau et Jeannine de Shediac; six petits-enfants: Angele (Jason), Melissa (Duncan), Jessica, Amanda (Eric), Rene (Megan) et Jean; sept arrière petits-enfants: Janelle, Logan, Rene, Grace, Jetta Lynn, Duncan et C.J., ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Six soeurs: Ella, Alphonsina, Maggie, Angelina, Louisa “Lee” et Rita ainsi que cinq frères: Gilbert, Peter, Clement, Wilfred et Romeo l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B. (857-1901) le mardi de 14 à 16h et de 19 à 21h et le mercredi de 10h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Sainte-Thérèse à Dieppe, N.-B., le mercredi 18 décembre, 2013, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire, Dieppe, N.-B.
Un don à la sociéte Alzheimer serait apprécié par la famille.
