It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Joseph Johnson, 93, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Scoudouc, he was the son of the late Adolphe and the late Nora Johnson (Belliveau).
Ronald will be sadly missed by his two sons: Eric Johnson (Phanlert Panaram) of Hawkesbury, ON, and Louis (Natasha) Johnson of Fredericton; his grandchildren: Jacob, Eric, Aaron, and Phillip; his brother, Jean-Marie (Florence) Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Angéline; his son, Pierre; as well as his siblings: Lorraine, Emery, Alonzo, Blanche, Claude, and Bertrand.
Ronald was proud of his social work through the establishment of the East End Boys and Girls Club in Moncton before moving on to his involvement with Correction Canada’s Interfaith Prison Chaplaincy Committee. After his years of service in New Brunswick’s ministry of Sports & Leisure, he was instrumental in the establishment of Go Ahead Seniors and his role as its executive director before his retirement.
In respect to Ronald’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A graveside service will be held for the family at Our-Lady-of-Calvary Cemetery.
Donations in Ronald’s memory can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Ron était un mentor pour moi lors de mes années que j’ai eu la chance à travailler avec lui au département de loisir pour la ville de Dieppe et c’est lui qui m’a encouragé d’aller faire mon bac en loisir à l’université de Moncton. Ron will be missed by his friends in Ottawa while he was living in Ottawa.
I will miss seeing Ron on the bus.
He went out everyday that he was able, he ate properly and always dressed well. He also liked good conversation.

Dear Eric and Louis—I just heard this past week, of the passing of your Dad. Ron was a lovely gentleman and I had gotten to know him at Camden, through my Dad (Ron Seaman) who passed away this past June (2025) at the age of 94. Your dad had been a good friend to my dad and helped him alot over the few months proceeding his hospitalization. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to both of you and your family.
