Ronald McDonald, 88, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, on Sunday February 27, 2022. He was married to Jeannita (Saulnier) McDonald. Born in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Daniel and the late Azélie (LeBlanc) McDonald.
Ronald was self-employed in the construction industry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking and snowmobiles. He also loved to spend time on his land in Saint-Maurice.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Jeannita, his children; Charles (Marie-Mai), Diane both of Bouctouche, his granddaughters; Sylvie, Monique, Lynn and his great grandsons; Patrick, Yanick, Shawn and Rémi.
He also leaves to mourn his sister, Jeannita Cormier of Bouctouche, his brother, Daniel (Jeanne) of Cocagne, his daughter-in-law, Dianne and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was predeceased by two children; Marie in infancy and Gilles, four sisters; Bessie, Edna, Helene, Aline, and five brothers; Camille, Johnny, Emerie, Michael and Roger.
Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche, on Thursday March 3, 2022 from 2 to 4pm and from 5:30 to 6:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 7:00pm.
In Ronald memory a donation can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or to the Clément-Cormier Bursary Fund.
