It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosaire Claveau, 60, on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Timmins, ON, he was the son of the late Richard Claveau and the late Ghyslaine Bellemare.
Rosaire will be sadly missed by his children: Steve (Tina), David (Lauren) and Tania (Jean-Sébastien); his siblings: Manon, Richard (Olivia), Lily (Michael), Harley (Annie), Marie-Rose (Gerry) and Nelson (Hellene). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosaire was a dedicated gas inspector with the Department of Justice and Public Safety. He poured his heart into his work. He was also involved in boxing with the Moncton F.I.S.T. Boxing Club, an activity that had brought him much joy and many cherished friendships.
The family would like to thank the staff at the oncology unit of the Moncton Hospital for the great care they provided over the years.
In respect to Rosaire’s wishes, there will be no visitations and no funeral service.
Donations in memory of Rosaire can be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (oncology unit).

Condoléance à Suzanne, David, Steve et Tania et tout les personnes touchées par le départ de Rosaire. J’ai eu le privilège de connaître Rosaire et marcher les rangers de l’Établissement Atlantique ( Renous ) l’une des plus dangereuses aux Canada, avec le Service Correctionnel du Canada, pendant quelques années. Je me sentais en sécurité avec toi Rosaire à mes côtés. Tu étais juste mais très ferme. Un vrai de vrai. Un gars solide. Après une longue absence d’amitié, on se rencontre de nouveau à Dieppe. Pratiquement voisin. Comme personne et entrepreneur tu était un homme de principe. Veille sûr tes proches et tes anciens collègues là haut. Merci Rosaire pour tout. Repose toi bien et à la prochaine mon ami.
I had the pleasure of working with Rosaire for several years at Dept. Public Safety. He was always very professional and took so much pride in his work. He will be sadly missed.

I thought waiting a few days before sharing might make this a bit easier, but it has not. Rosaire has left a void in our office and in my heart which is hard to explain.
Rosaire had a way to ruffle some feathers, there was no denying that, but it was his disciplinary, almost military training that brought this on. His boxing training surely contributed to it also. Under that thick skin was a very sensitive man. He shared with me, as I did with him many a times and I discovered a much softer Rosaire.
On my last visit to see him at the hospital, we both shed a few tears. He accepted his fate. He asked about my family as he always did. I will miss that man.
Rest in peace my friend.
