It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Gould of Moncton, on September 25, 2026, at the age of 72.
He leaves behind his wife and lifelong friend, Camy. Married on January 28th, 1977, together they raised four beautiful children. Trevor (Trish), Jessica (Luc), Nicholas, and Justin (Ashley). Although their paths eventually took them in different directions, Roy and Camy remained forever friends, connected by the love they had for their children, their family, and the many years they shared together.
Roy loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather. His six grandchildren (Dominic, Chloe, Sofia, Miah, Alex and Gabriel) and his great-grandson (Hayden) held a very special place in his heart. He loved hearing all about dance competitions , ringette and hockey games, how school was going, where work was taking them. He would always listen, ask questions, and share how proud he was of each of them. Although he couldn’t always be there as they were growing up, they were a part of him, and he carried each of them with him always.
Roy was an amazing brother and always had a special place in his heart for his siblings Aline (Vince), Anne (Kevin), Betty (Richard), Dale, Paul (Liz), David (Alice), and his late sister, Greta. He loved the memories they shared growing up and the connection that came from being family. He loved his brothers and sisters dearly.
Roy had a way of making people feel welcome, heard, and cared for, and over the years he created so many meaningful connections. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who meant so much to him.
Roy was predeceased by his parents, Gabrielle “Gail” Gould and Maurice Gould.
While family and connection was an important of Roy’s life, there was so much more that made him the person we knew and loved. He was curious by nature, always learning, creating, and finding new ways to grow. He had many passions throughout his life, each one reflecting something about who he was.
Roy was deeply committed to the practice of caring for both his body and mind. In 1988, he earned his first-degree black belt in the martial art of Limalama, an accomplishment that reflected his dedication and discipline. He practiced Tai Chi and yoga for many years and made meditation and mindfulness a part of his daily life.
Music was at the very heart and soul of Roy. It was one of the ways he expressed who he was and shared pieces of himself with the people he loved. He was an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and played many instruments including guitar, harmonica and flute. Music was something he felt deeply. It was a beautiful part of who he was.
Roy was a lifelong learner with a genuine curiosity about people and life. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education and became an NLP Master Practitioner, Life Skills Coach, and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. He was passionate about helping others, and he carried that desire to grow and make a difference into his practice as a licensed counselling therapist and through every aspect of his life.
Roy’s children and immediate family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Palliative Care Unit 3600 at the Moncton Hospital. The compassion, care, and professionalism they showed Dad and our family during such a difficult time meant more than words can express and will never be forgotten.
Roy leaves behind a family who loved him deeply. Although we will miss him more than words can say, we will carry him with us in our hearts and be forever grateful that he was ours.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Augustine’s Church, 113 Norwood Street, Moncton. A celebration of Roy’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Whale, 391 Coverdale Road, Riverview. All who knew and loved Roy are warmly welcome. As we come together to honour Roy, the family asks that everyone to take the time to be fully present with one another and to share stories, laughter, love, music, and the moments that remind us of the special person he was.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful person who will be forever missed
Sending my sympathies to the Gould family 🤍
I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Although I never had the chance to know him personally, from everything I’ve heard about him, he sounded like such a truly special person. It’s so clear how deeply loved he was and how much he meant to everyone whose lives he touched. My thoughts are with you and your beautiful family, and I’m sending you so much love, strength, and peace during this heartbreaking time.
He was my very special friend. He taught me many things, humility his greatest lesson. He was a strong, powerful presence on this earth and heaven is greater still having him back.
What a heartfelt and all-encompassing tribute you have shared! Your dad was a big part of our lives in Moncton, Alan will be waiting at heaven’s door with open arms, along with Norm. They really were quite the trio. So many treasured memories Roy has contributed…from his ‘sing us a song you’re the piano man’ to all the rousing sing-along tunes in his repertoire. Heaven is lucky to be getting him. So very sad to hear of his passing, and I am completely convinced the love in all your hearts not just at the send off of his celebration of life, but going forward through your own lives — will be all he could ask for and desire. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, much love and all the hugs in the universe!!
Camilla and family, thinking of you at this most difficult time. Sending our love and prayers.
Sending my condolences to everyone whose lives were touched by Roy.
Sending our most sincere condolences on the passing of Roy. May you cherish the memories you made to keep him close.
My heart felt sympathy to all of Roy’s family. He will be truly missed.
Condolences to the Family. Beautiful Obituary. Roy’s Brother Dave is a very close friend to my Wife and I. Dave often spoke of Roy and their closeness along with his passion for music. RIP Roy…you left behind a Legacy to be proud of.
My most sincere sympathies to the entire family. I know what a tremendous loss this is to you all.
My condolences to Came and family. We were related to you and Roy. My dad was Roy’s great brother. God Bless🙏
Ron
What a great photo. Roy looks so relaxed. He was so focused on so many things most of the time to see him “kick back” makes me smile. If only we could have bottled all the information, ideas, and love that he contained, we would be that much more richer but, alas, we can only carry on with what he taught and gave us while he was with us, even though he claimed he was “no teacher”. He gave his best.
Jessica, Luc, Sophia, and Chloe, I’m so sorry for your loss. Although we never had the chance to meet your father and grandfather, the love, care, and compassion your family has shown mine speak to the kind of person he was and the love he passed on to you.
His obituary was beautiful. I hope you can take comfort in knowing he is in a better place and that his love will live on in each of you. We’re thinking of you all. ❤️
My dearest sister Camilla and family, sending you all my sincere condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in each other…

To my dearest sister in law Anne, and her precious family. I pray that God will comfort you by wrapping His arms around you and letting you know that you are all loved. I am so glad that you have great memories of Roy. Hold on to them and share them with everyone you come in contact with. Love and prayers
I’m so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of him from when I was growing up. He was always so easy to talk to and had such a warm, non-judgmental way about him that made you feel completely comfortable just being yourself. The kindness and acceptance he showed me during those years left a lasting impression, and it’s something I’ve carried with me into adulthood. I feel very lucky to have known him and will always remember him fondly. Thinking of your whole family during this difficult time.
