Shediac – It is with deep sadness that the family of Shirley Bernice Smith (née Richards) announces her passing at Villa Providence, Shediac on February 20, 2022 at the age of 91.

Shirley was a native of Halifax but has called Shediac home since 1997. She is survived by two sons Robert Smith, Jr. (Bella) of Grande-Digue; Glenn Smith (Lisa) of Moncton; three grandchildren: Gabrielle Smith-Abourizk (Antoine) of Ottawa, Danielle Smith and Will Smith, of Moncton; two great-grandsons: Anthony and Samuel Abourizk, of Ottawa; one sister, Marlene MacDonald of Halifax, and two brothers: Gerald Richards (Robina) of Ottawa and Jack Richards of Dartmouth, as  well as many nieces and nephews from across Canada. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert Sr. in 2012.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Providence in Shediac for the wonderful care that was provided to Shirley during her final years.

At Shirley’s request, there will be no visitation, funeral or memorial service. Condolences in the guest book are welcomed at:
