Shirley was such a wonderful soul, we are so very sorry for everyone’s loss. She and Noel were two peas in a pod, and a true matriarch of your wonderful family.
Know our thoughts are with you everyone. A comforting message I received once, now I share with you. Hold your memories close to your heart- they will bring you through to the other side of this sadness, and be there shining even brighter when you’re ready to smile again.

Noel, Noel Jr., Neal, Nancy and Families,
Our condolences on your great loss. I am quite sure that there was a beautiful reunion when Mom welcomed Shirley home on Wednesday. I learned so much about friendship as I watched their relationship continue to grow and deepen decade after decade and I often heard Mom say she wouldn’t know what to do without “Shirl”. One of my favorite memories is when Mom brought Shirley to the Island for a day shortly after we were married, Mom asked why I hadn’t made them a pie and I told them that I didn’t have a rolling pin and they laughed that contagious laughter of theirs. We made a visit into town that day where Shirley proceeded to buy me a rolling pin, I still have it and I think of her every time I use it.
I am so sorry that we are not able to attend the visitation or the funeral but please know that I will be sending you all so much love and light.
Love,
Krista

It is now 54 years since I last met Shirley and Noel. We had become great friends but myself and my wife had decided to return with our family, to live in England again. We had lived for eight great years in Moncton, during which Noel had become a firm friend and it was clear that Shirley and Noel were
clearly devoted. Their kindness was particularly apparent when, with our home and belongings all sold, they invited me to stay with them in their home for the several days before I sailed. I was grateful then for their kindness and we have continued to value their continued contact over all the years since. Our sincere condolences to Noel and the family – David and Pat Hallam.
