Grand-Barachois, NB – Simone Poirier, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton, NB.

Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Paul and the late Exelda Poirier (Robichaud).

Simone will be sadly missed by her siblings: Pauline DeCarlo (Frank) of Bobcaygeon, ON and Gérald Poirier (Jeannine) of Moncton; his brother-in-law: Allie Basque of Caraquet; her nieces: Nadine and Lisa; her nephews: Glen, Ian and Paul.

She was predeceased by her sister:  Norma Basque.

Visitation will be held at Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB (506) 532-1050, on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 1pm until time of funeral at the chapel at 3pm.

Interment in St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Cemetery where she will rest in peace with her parents.

    Our deepest sympathies to all of you. I knew Simone in my younger years since I grew up in Dieppe. Rest in Peace Simonne, you deserve it.

    Je n’ai pas eue l’occasion de connaître Simonne mais j’ai gradué avec Pauline de l’école du Nursing Dr. GL Dumont en1969.

    Simone est finalement en paix après une longue bataille de cancer. Elle fut forte jusqu’a la fin.
    Nous remercions du fond du coeur les médecins ,gardes-malade et principalement les amis qui l’ont supportés le plus durant le pire de sa bataille .

Although there were many miles between us you were always close in my heart and never far in my thoughts. I remember fondly the few times we were able to meet and am grateful for the pictures.   14. I am very sorry to hear of Simone’s passing. She was a childhood friend in Dieppe and she was a good friend when I moved to Fredericton and had the opportunity to work with her there. My deepest condolences to the family and friends.

  15. J’offre mes sympathies à la famille pour la perte de Simone. J’ai connu Simone à l’école primaire, secondaire et au Collège communautaire de Moncton pour le cours de sténographe bilingue. Par la suite on se voyait assez régulièrement et après on a fait des parcours différents. Quelle réponse en paix.

I have met her at work where i i presence my work now stillll i am so happy to have met simone she was the greatest n amazin woman i have known she had the biggest heart n loving after our shift was done i remember her saying “ i cant wait to go wait to go home n see my cats but they willl not be happy with me cuz her cat London will not be happy cuz she would smelll our cats at the workplace it wouldnt last long only like 10 minutes n her stories of life her living to the fullest but sadly she is gone to rest fly high my friend u til we meet again hugs xo 😘 so happy to have met u n greatly treasure that close to my heart ❤️
