Sophie Nowlan, 78, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, at the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche on Saturday April 2, 2022. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Lucas and the late Irène (LeBlanc) Nowlan.
Sophie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her children; Maria Bastarache-LeBlanc (Yvon), Marie-Thérèse Richard (Daniel) both of Bouctouche, Marielle Surette (André) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Maurice (Teresa) of Dieppe and Mark (Nancy) of Campbellton, her twelve grandchildren; Maxime, Pierre, Thomas, Joshua, Jason, Gabriel, Mathieu, Felicia, Rachelle, Josée, Annie-Lyne and Isabelle, her four great grandchildren; Marissa, Dominic, Dalex and Jonathan. She also leaves to mourn her sisters; Thérèse Cormier (Lionel) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Stella Cormier Mélanie Nowlan of Bouctouche, Bernadette Nowlan (Omer) of Saint-Norbert, her brothers; Adolphe (Dorice), Lawrence (Maria), John (Anna), Edouard (Géralda), Luc (Maria) all of Bouctouche and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother: Edgar (1958).
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 5:45 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche, on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Do not be sad, forget your sorrow, for where I am now, there are no tears, no suffering, no sickness, no pain. The happiness I live in heaven is even greater than the happiness I have experienced on earth. I found with God light and infinite love. Rejoice He watches over me and has granted me rest and eternal peace.
