Born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, NS, she was the daughter of the late William and the late Esther Forward (nee Budge).

Thelma will be sadly missed by two daughters, Michelle Carmichael-Clark (Brad) of Sussex, NB, Beatrice Carmichael of Moncton, NB; by her son, Donald of Baddeck, NS; by her two sisters, Viola Carmichael-Allen (Jim) of Tarbot, NS and Betty Ryan (late Darcy) of Glace Bay, NS; by her siblings, Jean Forward of Glace Bay, NS, Lavenia Forward of Luneburg, NS and Joyce Havens of St. Catherine’s, ON; by three brothers, Henry (Pat) of Pembroke, On, Clarence (Brenda) of Glace Bay, NS and Joe (Pam) of Port Morien, NS; by her nine grandchildren; by her two great-grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her mother, Beatrice Carmichael; by her husband, William Carmichael; by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Carmichael; by her two sons, Billy and Joey; by her brother, Alfred.

Visitation will held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (Corner West Lane), Moncton, NB, on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:30 till the time of funeral. Funeral service will be held from Passage Funeral Chapel, Moncton, NB, on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00am.

Donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
