In Loving Memory Of
Thérèse Caissie
1952 ~ 2026

Moncton, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thérèse Caissie, 74, of Moncton, NB, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Born in Bouctouche, NB, she was the daughter of the late Benoît Duplessis and the late Locade Duplessis (née LeBlanc).

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Vincent Caissie; her children: Rachel (Jason) Sweet of Riverview, Danielle Caissie of Moncton, Marc Caissie (Astrid) of Moncton, and Steven Caissie of Moncton; her cherished grandchildren: Kaitlyn Caissie, Dylan Caissie, Cody Caissie, Caissie Sweet, and Chelsey Sweet; her brother, Robert (Azelle) Duplessis of Bouctouche; her sisters: Léona Cormier (late Alyre) of Bouctouche, Louisa Breau (late Léo) of Saint-Antoine, and Rosemonde LeBlanc (Ronald) of Dieppe; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Besides her parents, Thérèse was predeceased by her sisters: Noëlla, Rose-Mai, Bernice, and Viola; and by her brothers: Victor and Rhéal.

Thérèse had a passion for painting and arts and crafts. She had a special gift with children and was the proud owner and operator of Bear Hugs Daycare in Moncton, where she cared for many children over the years.

Visitation will be held at Passage-Maillet, 29 rue de l’Église, Bouctouche, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 4:00 p.m. at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in Bouctouche.

Burial will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bouctouche, NB.

In Thérèse’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
