Shediac – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Theresa Arsenault, 93, on Friday, March 25, 2022, at George Dumont Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Leger’s Corner (Dieppe), she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Cormier) LeBlanc.
She is now reunited with her loving husband of 69 years “Archie”. He was the love of her life, she always said it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT and there was no other for her.
She was a retiree of NB Power. Listening to music was always a part of her daily life. She especially enjoyed the “oldies tunes”. She was a collector of 45s and many albums. Through her love of music, she was able to enjoy learning to tap dance and in later years enjoy ballroom dancing with the love of her life. Her unconditional love for her family and everyone who knew her is admirable. Being a woman of strong faith, her readings and prayers were an important part of her daily life. She was a very giving person always helping those in need, many anonymously. One of her famous sayings is with charity “the left hand should not know what the right hand is doing”. She enjoyed being with family hosting Sunday dinners, and many special occasions. Throughout her years, she enjoyed many types of crafts such as painting, rug hooking and especially crocheting even winning a First Place Ribbon at the Atlantic National Exhibition for her handicraft. For many years she was a stamp and coin collector. She enjoyed relaxing in nature going trout fishing with her husband and friends and always up for a good game of cards. Theresa had a great sense of humour and lots of wit. She was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. She was a previous member of “William Ling Bowling Club’’, ‘’Silver Sands Seniors Club’’ and ‘’Shediac Golden Age Club’’. Also, the Shediac Athletic Club where she worked at the weekly bingos and the canteen at the Shediac Lobster Festival. She also served as statistician for the local mixed bowling league for many years.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, her beloved husband ‘’Archie’’, her sisters, infant Mary, Bella, Evelyn, Mae, Rita, Leona, Anita. Brothers infant Rene & Roy.
Theresa is survived by her children Diane (special friend Jean Guy) of Shediac, Ronald of Grande Digue, Rachel (Adjei) Sarpong of Saint John. Grandchildren Shawn, David, Nancy, Comfort, Emmanuel. Great Grandchildren Keyana, Catherine, Isabel, Connor, Ruby, Willow, Eden. Her brothers Leo (Eveline) of Moncton and Ronald (Camilla) of Shediac and many nieces and nephews, special friends, Jeannine and Charles Goguen, Julia and John, Adele, Angela, Lita, Rosie, Beatrice.
In respecting the family’s request, mask will be mandatory at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from Passage – 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, (506) 532-1050, on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 9 am until time of service in the Chapel at 11 am.
