Tommy Bastarache, 89, of Villa Providence Shediac, passed away on Friday, September 9th, 2016 at his residence. He was formerly of Dieppe.
Born in Dieppe, he was the son of the late Alyre and the late Evangeline (née: LeBlanc) Bastarache.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Bastarache had worked as a barber. He owned the Red Barn for 38 years, where he enjoyed organizing those Sunday night Jamborees. He was a singer, a guitar player and a drummer. He was a member of Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by one sister Rita (late Emile) Hébert; 2 sisters-in-law Holly (late George) and Jeanne (late René) as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (2014); 5 sisters: Maria, Dora, Jeannette, Irène and Thérèse; and by 7 brothers: Eli, Yvon, François, Alban, Edgar, René and George.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Wednesday from 9 am until time of departure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday September 14th, 2016 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

À la Villa providence Shediac, le vendredi 9 septembre 2016, à l’âge de 89 ans, est décédé Tommy Bastarache, autrefois de Dieppe.
Né à Dieppe, il était fils de feu Alyre et de feu Evangeline (née LeBlanc) Bastarache.
Avant sa retraite, M. Bastarache travaillait comme barbier. Il était propriétaire de la « Red Barn » pendant 38 ans et se faisait un plaisir d’organiser les Jamboree du dimanche soir. Il chantait, jouait de la guitare et de la batterie. Il était membre de la paroisse Ste. Thérèse.
Il laisse dans le deuil une soeur Rita (feu Emile) Hébert; 2 belles-sœurs: Holly (late George) et Jeanne (late René) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Son épouse, Patricia (2014); 5 sœurs : Maria, Dora, Jeannette, Irène et Thérèse; 7 frères : Eli, Yvon, François, Alban, Edgar, René et George l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, (857-1901), le mardi de 19h à 21h ainsi que le mercredi de 9h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu en l’Église Ste. Thérèse, Dieppe, le mercredi 14 septembre 2016, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire à Dieppe, N.-B.
