Dieppe, NB – Ubald (Uby) Gaudet, 85, of Dieppe, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday May 21st, 2025, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton, NB.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Aurèle and the late Ida (née Gosselin) Gaudet.

Uby was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed family time together. He was also a well respected businessman and founder of Beausejour Assurance in Dieppe. Uby was also an avid Drag Racer and enjoyed traveling to many race tracks around Canada and beyond.

Uby was also blessed to have enjoyed a well earned retirement spending over 30 years wintering with many friends in Florida at the Harbour Lights Park in St. Petersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (née Leger), three sons, Terry (Carolle) of Memramcook, Roland of Dieppe and Gilles (Sarah) of Wakefield, QC.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Patricia and one brother, Rheal.

He is also survived by two sisters, Germaine (Roger) of Dieppe, NB, Josette of Moncton, NB and one brother Jean-Eudes (Claudia) of Dieppe, NB and also survived by one sister-in-law Marie-Reine of Moncton, NB.  As well as 4 grandchildren, Veronique (Pascal), Samuel, Celeste and Beatrice.

Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 from 1 pm to 3:45 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated at 4 pm in the chapel and will be followed by a reception.

Interment in Passage-Chartersville Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cynthia Savoy, Dr Marie-Josée Nadeau, the Extra-Mural Program Blanche-Bourgeois Unit and the wonderful and kind people who work at the Palliative Care Department at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital.  Donations to the oncology department at the Dr. George-L. Dumont University Hospital would be appreciated. Also many thanks to the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative.

  1. Terry & family, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your father. Our fathers teach us so much, provide inspiration, guidance, and a measuring stick to live up to. There will be a void, and it will be tough at times, but it will be the good memories and the little things reminders that keep them with us and get us through. I have many of my father’s tools and despite their wear, I treasure them with each use. My thoughts of with you my friend. Take care.

  10. Dear Jeanne, Terry and family, I was so saddened to just learn of Uby’s passing. Both Uby and Jeanne wonderful, kind people. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Uby, Jeanne and Terry, while I worked at Angus Miller Insurance. Please accept my sincere condolences.
