Valerie Girouard, 86, of Saint-Antoine, husband of Thérèse (Née Cormier) Girouard, passed away after a lengthy illness at Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Tuesday February 20th, 2007.
Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent on April 4th, 1920, he was the son of the late Philias and the late Macrine (Née Cormier) Girouard.
Valerie attended Saint-Antoine L’Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine; a veteran of WW11, and a member of the Saint-Antoine Golden Age Club. He was employed with CN for numerous years as a Carman.
He is survived by his wife Thérèse (Née Cormier) Girouard, four daughters; Bernice Gallant (Léonce) of Grande-Digue, Paulette Lussier (Claude) of Montreal, Louise Belliveau of Saint-Paul, Suzanne Girouard of Saint-Antoine, and six grand children; Francois, Mona, Ghislain, Isabelle, Sarah, Alexandre and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by five sisters; Régina, Joséphine, Julienne, Lauretta, Odila and five brothers; Joseph, Aimé, Oscar, Edouard and Zoel.
Visitation will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church slumber room, on Thursday February 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Church, Saint-Antoine at 11:00 am on Friday February 23rd, 2007. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
