In Loving Memory Of
Valmont Gauvin
1936 ~ 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Valmont Gauvin, who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family.

Valmont leaves behind the love of his life and devoted wife of 66 years, Annette (Bourque). He will be deeply missed by his children, Denise (Jim), Charlie (Ginette), Monette (Jean-Guy), and Guy (Guylaine). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jimmy, Sophie, Chantal, Stéphanie, Dominique, and a cherished great-grandfather to Addison, Hudson, Lily, and Ava, all of whom brought him endless pride and joy.

Valmont was predeceased by his parents, Yvon Gauvin and Yvonne (Gaudet), as well as his brothers, Ulysse (Diana), Armand and Neri (Corinne) and his sisters, Yolande (Léo) and Loretta (Oscar).

He is survived by his sisters, Josette (the late Lloyd Melanson), Bernadine (Donald Breau), and Aurore (the late Yvon Breau), and sister in-law Roberte, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Valmont dedicated many years of his career to Canadian National Railway (CNR).

Many knew Valmont as “The Inspector,” a nickname that suited him perfectly. Whether he was making his daily rounds, checking on a project, or quietly making sure everything was as it should be, he always kept an eye on the people and places he loved. His family affectionately gave him the title, and it stayed with him throughout the years.

Even Whisky, the family’s faithful four-legged companion, will miss his gentle presence and familiar routines at the farm.

The Inspector has completed his final round, but his favorite chair, his familiar rounds, and the quiet presence he brought to every day will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace. His love, his quiet strength, and the countless memories he created will remain with us always.

Visitation will be held from Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Monday, July 20th, 2026, from 12h30 to 4 pm only, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 4 pm.
