Verna Perry

Verna Perry, 86, of Moncton, NB, passed away on Saturday, July 31st, 2010, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital.

Born in Middle Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Leta (née: Nix) Estabrooks.

Verna lived in Dieppe for the past sixty years but for the last few months, she made her new home at Sunset Village where the wonderful staff and friendly residence made her feel so special. Mrs. Perry was an avid bowler for many years. She was a member of Fairlanes Golden Jets and Golden Agers bowling teams. She was known to some bowlers as “Coach” because of the helpful tips she gave them on how to bowl. She also enjoyed playing crib, knitting, sewing, watching sports on TV, especially baseball and hockey games. She liked making puzzles, playing bingo and dominos at her new residence.

Mrs. Perry was a very kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who leaves one daughter, Sharon (Ross) Burnett of Dieppe; one son, George (Paulette) of Dartmouth, NS; two brothers: Austin (Barb) Estabrooks of Sackville, NB and Don Estabrooks of Amherst, NS; five grandchildren: Sean, Shelly, Michelle, Brent and Scott and also two great grandchildren: Addison and Rylee, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, George in 2009; one son, Hugh Clifford in 1944 and also by two brothers: Carmen and Randal.

Respecting Verna’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or funeral service.

Interment at the Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.

À l’Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le samedi 31 juillet 2010, à l’âge de 86 ans, est décédée Verna Perry. Elle demeurait à Moncton, N.-B., et autrefois de Dieppe, N.-B.

Née à Middle Sackville, N.-B., elle était fille de feu John et de feu Leta (née: Nix) Estabrooks.

Mme Perry avait une passion pour les quilles, elle faisait partie des équipes “Fairlanes Golden Jets et Golden Agers”. Elle aimait jouer au crib, tricottés, faire de la couture et surveiller les sports à la television, elle aimait aussi faire des mots croisés, jouer au bingo et aux dominos à sa nouvelles residences.

Elle laisse dans le deuil une fille Sharon (Ross) Burnett de Dieppe; un fils, George (Paulette) de Dartmouth, N.-E.; deux frères: Austin (Barb) Estabrooks de Sackville, N.-B. et Don Estabrooks de Amherst, N.-E.; cinq petits-enfants: Sean, Shelly, Michelle, Brent et Scott; deux arrières petits-enfants: Addison et Rylee ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.

Son époux, George en 2009; un fils, Hugh Clifford en 1944 ainsi que deux frères: Carmen et Randal l’ont précédée dans la tombe.

 À sa demande, aucune visite ou service funéraire aura lieu.

L’inhumation au Colombaire de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, Dieppe, N.-B.

La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901).
