Viola Poirier
1944 ~ 2022

Moncton, NB. – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Viola Poirier, 77, on Sunday, March 27th, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.

She was the daughter of the late Ben Richard and the late Clarisse Richard.

Viola will be sadly missed by her husband, Paul Poirier, of 56 years; her two daughters: Darlene (Joseph) of Louisiana and Nancy (Jay) of Moncton; her two grandchildren: Katie (Tim) of Moncton and Kyle of Alberta; her great-granddaughter Olivia; three sisters-in-law: Annette, Alice, Maria; her brother-in-law Roger of Moncton; her nephew: Kevin (Julie) and niece: Claudine (Sean).

She was predeceased by her loving daughter Karen; her brothers: Louis (Josephine) and Donnie (Sharol); as well as her sister Joan.

Viola had a long career in the nursing field at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital and the Sister Mother House until her retirement.

This beautiful woman was a loving and caring wife and mother.

A special thank you to the Dr. Manon LeRoux and the Extra-Mural staff for the kindness and care given during these difficult times.

Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton, on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. In respect to the family’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Viola can be made to the Moncton SPCA.

  3. So sad to see such a wonderful, loving, kind hearted woman leave us. I remember her as being so kind and caring to all her patients at the Maison Mère. After serving the sick for so many years may kind soul may now rest in peace.
