In Loving Memory Of
Vojtech Glezgo
1950 - 2024

Grande-Digue, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Vojtech (Béla) Glezgo, 74, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

Born in Nitra, Slovakia, he was the son of Guraj Glezgo (pre-deceased) and Erzsebet Lukacs.

Béla was full of life, laughter and adventures.  He really enjoyed playing the blues with his harmonica and guitar. His favorite hobby was gardening, growing many beautiful flowers throughout the years. In the end, he was where he wanted to be, he was free, on land he considered a sacred sanctuary.

When he came to Canada at the age of 19 his passion for life carried him through those early challenges. He held to his integrity and truth.

He will be missed by his ex-partner and friend Rhéa Gallant and his two sons: Antoine Glezgo of Riverview and Philippe Glezgo of Terrace, BC.   He is also survived by his sisters Suzanna Burman of Toronto and  Elzbeta Mitrij (Martin) of Peterborough, his brother Anton Glezgo of Kosice, Slovakia, his half-sister Anna-Bella Polansky-Ozkilkic (Yusuf Kerem) of Hollola, Turkey and step-mother Marja-Leena Polansky.

In keeping with Béla’s wishes and that of his family, there will be no visitation.  A private service will be held at a later date.

The family invites you to sign an online book of condolences at:

For those wishing to do so, donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
