Dieppe, NB – William J. “Bill” Hodgson, 89, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late William Louis and the late Marthe Hodgson (nee Hudan).
He worked as a meat cutter, car salesmen, auto parts service and a janitor until his retirement in1994. He was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church. Bill enjoyed square and round dancing, singing, bowling, camping, reading, family activities and especially enjoyed feeding his birds and ducks.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Élodie Hodgson (nee Robichaud) of Dieppe, his six children, Michael Hodgson of Lower Coverdale, Linda Léger (Bob) of Dieppe, Yvette Brideau (Bob) of Montreal, QC, Danny Arsenault (Pauline) of Moncton, Richard Arsenault (David) of Moncton, Pam Moorehouse (Dan) of St. John; his sister, Martha Walthers of Riverview; he is also survived by several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, by many nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel Giddings and his brothe,r Edward.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Georges Anglican Church, 51 Church Street corner Queen Street, Moncton on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015 at 2 pm.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association (NB) would be appreciated by the family.
