Shediac, NB – Willie P. Poirier, 83, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, January 13, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
Born in St-Edouard-de-Kent on April 20, 1929, he was the son of the late Pierre and Régina (Belliveau) Poirier.
Willie will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Diane Richard (Léo-Paul), Marie-Jeanne LeBlanc (Francis) and Louisa Poirier, all of Cocagne; six sons, Paul-Emile (Lorraine) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, Albert (Rachel) of St-Norbert, Jean-Eudes (Danielle) and Bernard (Jeannine), both of St-Edouard-de-Kent; Roger (Donna) of Miramichi and Mario (Rachel) of Bouctouche; two brothers, Albert Maillet (Hectorine) of Shediac and Treflé (late Dorice) of Bouctouche; one sister, Adèle LeBlanc (Aldéric) of Bouctouche; seventeen grandchildren; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Rosanne (2008); one son, Joseph Bernard; two brothers, Henri and Fred; and two sisters, Alice and Aline.
Visitations will be at the Slumber Room in the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church on Tuesday, January 15, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, January 16, from 9:30 am until time of funeral.
Funeral service will be held at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church on Wednesday, January 16, at 11am.
