Yvon Babin, 80, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, July 11th, 2020 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Atholville, NB, he was the son of the late Antoine and the late Bertha (née: Benwell) Babin.
He was at his happiest when surrounded by family and friends, always bringing a smile to faces through his sense of humor and love of laughter.
An outdoorsman at heart, he truly found joy in spending time in nature with his sons, trout fishing in the spring and summer and deer hunting in the fall. It was never about if he got anything to bring home but who he brought with him to spend time with.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (née: Bourque); three sons: Denis (Brenda) of Riverview, Regis of Moncton and Eric (Shelley) of Miramichi; four sisters: Thérèse, Nanette, Yolande and Adeline "Gaizie"; three brothers: Marcel, Gerald "Gerry" and Paul; two grandchildren: Josh (Meta) and Brittany; one great grandson, Brooks, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Marie-Jeanne and also by five brothers: Gilles, Roland, Roger, Raoul "Ralph" and Raymond.
Respecting social distancing, visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Friday, July 17th, 2020 from noon until 1:45pm.
A private funeral will be held.
Interment in Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe.
Donations to the CHU-Dumont or Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundations would be appreciated by the family.
À l’Hôpital de Moncton, le samedi 11 juillet 2020, à l’âge de 80 ans, est décédé Yvon Babin. Il demeurait à Moncton au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Né à Atholville, N.-B., il était le fils de feu Antoine et de feu Bertha (née Benwell) Babin.
Il était à son plus heureux lorsqu’il était entouré de sa famille et de ses amis, apportant toujours un sourire aux visages grâce à son sens de l’humour et son amour du rire. Passionné du plein air, il appréciait passer du temps dans la nature, la pêche à la truite avec ses fils au printemps et en été et la chasse au cerf à l’automne. Il ne s’agissait jamais de savoir s’il avait quelque chose à ramener à la maison, mais avec qui il avait amené avec lui pour passer du temps.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Jeannette (née Bourque); trois fils: Denis (Brenda) de Riverview, Régis de Moncton et Eric (Shelley) de Miramichi; quatre sœurs: Thérèse, Nanette, Yolande et Adeline «Gaizie»; trois frères: Marcel, Gerald «Gerry» et Paul; deux petits-enfants: Josh (Meta) et Brittany; un arrière petit-fils, Brooks, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Une soeur, Marie-Jeanne ainsi que cinq frères: Gilles, Roland, Roger, Raoul “Ralph” et Raymond l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
En respectant la distanciation sociale, les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901), le vendredi 17 juillet 2020 de midi à 13h45.
Funérailles privées auront lieu.
Inhumation au Colombaire de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, Dieppe.
Un don aux Fondations CHU-Dumont ou aux Amis de l’Hôpital de Moncton seraient appréciés par la famille.
