Moncton – Yvon Cormier, 89, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, March 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Alban and Adèle (Breau) Cormier.
Yvon will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorilla (Bastarache); his daughter, Jeannine Cormier of Montreal; his four sons, Norman (Wendy) of Moncton, Gerald “Jerry” (Barbara) and Raymond (Susan), both of Riverview, Roger (Sandy) of Calgary, AB; his three sisters, Yolande LeClair (Frank), Zella O’Dell (late George), Dina Arsenault (Alphée), all of Moncton; his brother, Henri “Hank” (late Joan) of Moncton; ten grandchildren, Rob, Erin, Brian, Trisha, Sam, Sarah, Quinn, Gilles, Natasha, Toshi; his six great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Emery “Tim” and Antoine; and by one sister Dorilla.
Visitations will be at Passage Moncton, 625 Mountain Rd. on Wednesday, March 7 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. No visitations on Thursday. Funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church, 87 Murphy Ave., on Thursday, March 8 at 10:30 am. Interment in the Chartersville cemetery in the spring.
