In Loving Memory Of
Yvon Roy
1926 ~ 2022

Moncton, NB. – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvon Roy, 95, on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 due to natural causes at the Moncton Residence.

Born on July 29th, 1926 in Saint-Cyrille, NB, he was the son of the late Edouard and the late Mathilda Roy (LeBlanc).

Dad opened a bakery in Minto, NB, in the 60’s, after a few years it was obvious to come to Moncton.  He continued in the food business until he found his niche in the wedding cake business that he loved.    He acquired a skill in his trade that was admirable.  At 65 he retired to spoil his grandchildren with many art form cakes.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters Dorine of Moncton, Florence of Dieppe and Marcel of Shediac River, grandchildren: Jennifer (Michel), Nikos, Sébastien and Jean-Daniel; his great grandchildren: Nicholas, Samuel, Alexandre and Julien his sister Florence of Riverview; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Yvon was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Maria Vautour; four brothers: Omer, Frank, Norman and Jim; and five sisters: Nélida, Léa, Louise, Emma and Maria.

A graveside ceremony will be held for both Yvon and the late Maria for their family and friends to pay their respects. The address is Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel RC Church cemetery in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent on Friday, May 27th, 2022 at 2:00pm, it was their wish to both be laid to rest together.
