It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Zoel Bastarache on Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 81. Zoel passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was happily married to Faye (Butz) Bastarache with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.
Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent (St Fabien), he was the son of the late Emery Bastarache and the late Eloise (Gauvin) Bastarache.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons Zoel Junior (Dawn), Thomas Joseph (TJ) of Las Vegas and one daughter Renee of Las Vegas. His sisters Fernande Doiron of Leominster, Mass, Lucille Girouard, Bernice Cormier (Paul-Emile) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Imelda Landry (Francis) of Holiday, Florida, Cecilia Gillis (Tom Long) of Wayland, Mass, Noella Boucher of Moncton; seven grandchildren, Cody, Makayla, Zane, Dany, Zoel III, Parker, Landon; six great-grandchildren, Melinda, Kiley, Wyatt, Cameron, Haley, Naya.
He was predeceased by his parents Emery Bastarache (2014) and Eloise (Gauvin) Bastarache (2013), sister Lina (Bastarache) Gallant (1991) and four siblings in infancy three brothers Leo (1950), Donald (1952), Noel (1958); one sister Norma (1956).
