Alderic Poirier, 88, of Moncton, NB, passed away on Sunday, April 7th, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Born in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Lucas and the late Marguerite (née: Jaillet) Poirier.
Mr. Poirier worked in sales all his life. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce parish.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne (née: Smith); one son, Gary (Maryse) of Moncton; two sisters: Winnie (late Gerry) Allain and Ozelia "Mary" Blanchard, both of Bouctouche; one daughter-in-law, Debbie of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Helene of Bouctouche; one granddaughter, Theresa Tanya "Tammy" (Ron), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents; he was predeceased by three brothers: Michel, Maxime and George.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm ONLY.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-Grace Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 at 11 am.
Interment at the St-Jean-Baptiste Parish Cemetery, Bouctouche, NB.
Donations to the Moncton S.P.C.A. or to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation "Oncology" would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Bouctouche, N.-B., il était fils de feu Lucas et de feu Marguerite (née Jaillet) Poirier.
Avant sa retraite, M. Poirier travaillait en vente. Il était membre de la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Grâce et autrefois des Chevaliers de Colomb.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Ruth Anne (née Smith); un fils, Gary (Maryse) de Moncton; deux soeurs: Winnie (feu Gerry) Allain et Ozelia “Mary” Blanchard, toutes deux de Bouctouche; une bru, Debbie de Moncton; une belle-soeur, Helene de Bouctouche; une petite-fille, Theresa Tanya “Tammy” (Ron), ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, trois frères: Michel, Maxime et George l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le mardi de 19h à 21h SEULEMENT.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Moncton, N.-B., le mercredi 10 avril 2013 à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial St-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche, N.-B.
Un don à l’S.P.A. de Moncton ou à la fondation de l’hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont « Oncologie » serait apprécié par la famille.
