Moncton – Alice Cormier, 89, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, July 6, 2019. She was married to the late Cyrille Cormier (1976).
Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elise Richard.
“Madame Alice” as she was known to her many students was a dedicated teacher for 35 years. She also enjoyed volunteering to help others and was an active member in many committees. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, church choir and especially spending quality time with her family.
Alice will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Mariette Bourque (David) of Plaistow, NH, Michèle Robichaud (Sylvio) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, NB and Lise Cormier-Landry (Éric) of Ottawa, ON; her eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Stéphanie (Mathieu), Sheldon (Carrie), France (Marco), Jeff, Kelsey, Yannick and Noah; her great granddaughter, Valérie; her sister, Rose-Marie Lizotte (Richard) of Fitchburg, MA; her brother, Normand Richard (Carmen) of Ayer, MA; her two sisters-in-law, Claira of Bouctouche, NB and Rhéa of Sudbury, ON; also by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph, Léo and Gérard and two sisters Rita (Arthur) and Jeannette (Eddie).
Visitations will be held at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne slumber room on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. Funeral service will be held at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Church in Cocagne at 7pm.
