Born and raised on Shediac Island, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Régina Fougère (nee Boucher).
Alice started playing the organ at the early age of five. She also played the accordion and loved to entertain family and friends. She proudly played for the choir at O’Bon Soins where she spent five years. For the past year, she resided at le P’Tit Chez Nous where she still played the organ occasionally. She was an avid card player; she loved to read and crochet.
Alice will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Linda LeBlanc (André) of Grande-Digue and Helen Leger (Wendell White) of Bayfield, NS; by her foster children, Maria Goguen, Jeannine Aldsworth (Ron) and Rita Cormier; by her four brothers, Clarence of Moncton, Roger of Shediac Bridge, René (Geneva) of Waltham, Mass. and Ronald of Cap-Pele; by her three grandchildren, Joey LeBlanc, Marc LeBlanc and Luc LeBlanc (Joanie Guignard); by her great granddaughter, Coralie; Alice is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Leger (2010), by her four brothers, Léandre, Bill, Fred and Robert; by her three sisters, Euphémie (Lina) Fougère, Marguerite Leger and Jeanne Fougère and by a foster child, Thérèse
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, November 9 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home Thursday morning. Funeral mass will be held at the La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 at 11:00am.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation, The Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
