Shediac Bridge, NB – Amand Poirier, 95, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was a Second World War Veteran.

Born in Shediac Bridge , NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Christine (Caissie) Poirier and his second mother, the late Olive Caissie.

Amand will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Edna; by his ten children, Paul-Emile (Ruth) of Grande-Digue, Raymond (Diane) of Shediac, Léo (Julia) of Grande-Digue, Fernand of Shediac Bridge, Gérald (Cécilia) of Shediac Bridge, Gilles (Kim) of Shediac River, Aline (Maurice) of Cocagne, Rachel (Marcel) of Grande-Digue, Camilla (Laurie) of Robichaud and Diane (Gilles) of Shediac Bridge; by his three half-brothers, Adrien Poirier of Scoudouc, Blair Poirier of Shediac Bridge and Norbert Poirier of Montreal, QC; by his two half-sisters, Christine Doiron and Noëlla LeBlanc, both of Shediac Bridge; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Gérard; two brothers, Léonce and Blair; four sisters, Dorina, Rita, Amanda and Léola; one grandson, Paul, and three half-brothers, Normand, Donald and Camille.

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11 am. There will be no visitation on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Grande-Digue cemetery or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
