Grande-Digue, NB – Arthur Gallant, 85, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, November 23, 2015.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, he was the son of the late Emmett and Marguerite (Poirier) Gallant.
Arthur was a very kind and generous man. He spent many hours doing volunteer work in the community and at la Villa Providence. He also enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He was a bricklayer by trade, President of BAC Local 8 NB until his retirement at the age of 73. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus-Pascal Poirier-Chapter 7535.
Arthur will be sadly missed by his wife, Louise; his three children, Daniel (Diane) of Shediac, Cécile Savoie of Grande-Digue and Gilles (Cathy) of Moncton; his five brothers, John of Shediac, Thomas (Rose) of Shediac, Jacques (Raymonde) of Moncton, Pierre (Elizabeth) of Vernon, BC and Philippe (Thérèse) of Moncton; his five grandchildren, André, Josée, Joël, Denis and Nicolas; his two great grandchildren, Rayna and Kamren; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Frank (Angela) and Gérard (Edmée).
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. No visitation on Thursday before the funeral. Funeral mass will be held at the La Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Grande-Digue on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 11 am.
