Augustin Eagle
1935 ~ 2019
Moncton, NB – Augustin Eagle, 84, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont university hospital centre on Saturday, December 14th, 2019.
Born in Richibouctou-Village NB, he was the son of the late Hector and late Annie Eagle (born Richard).
Goose was an avid hockey player, coach and fan. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved spending time at his camp in Rogersville where he would walk in the woods, go fishing and hunting, he even taught his grandchildren how to call moose. He loved it when people laughed at his jokes, and he had a sweet spot for his little dog Nalah.
Gus had been a devoted AA member for 39 years. He was a sponsor and a friend, and through AA, he helped so many people. He was always just a phone call away. His little black book was always beside him in the living room where he had pictures of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Augustin will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Rita Eagle (born Arseneault) of Moncton; two daughters, Joanne Eagle (Daniel Roy) of Bouctouche and Nicole Eagle of Dieppe; one son, Ronald Eagle (Lise) of Dieppe; two siblings, Noëlla Bellefleur (late Robert) of Moncton and Hector Jr. Eagle of Hamilton, ON; six grandchildren, Adèle LeBlanc (Yves Caissie), Mélanie Thébeau LeBlanc (François), Marc Thébeau, Serge Eagle, Mia LeBlanc and Luc Eagle; three great-grandchildren, Alexandre Thébeau, Ava Caissie and Dax Caissie; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by seven siblings, Georgina, Claudia, Albertine, Bertin, Martha, Maria and Laurie.
Visitations will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel in Moncton (625, Mountain road) on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm and Friday, December 20, 2019 from 9am until 10:30am followed by the Funeral service at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church in Moncton (87, Murphy Avenue) at 11am.
