Born in New Glasgow, NS, he was the son of the late Wilfred Louis and the late Ann Elizabeth Hould (born Bubar).
Barrie was a member of the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway, Transport and General Workers when employed with the CNR in Stellarton, NS, June 1951. He then became heavily involved in the union movement, CBRT and GW (Unifor). He was also a member/board member of many different organizations; PROBUS, Moncton Press Club, Founding member of Passage Funeral Co-operative Ltd, Co-op Atlantic, Greater Moncton Airport Authority and Moncton District Labour Council, among the list of many others.
Barrie will be sadly missed by; his beloved wife of 61 years, E. Frances Hould (born Grealey), his son, Stephen Hould (Lori-Ann) of Irishtown; his daughter, Karin Cormier (Jeff) of Riverview; his two precious grandchildren, Brianna and Morissa; his two sisters, Lee Ann Hould Hartnett of Dartmouth, NS and Shan Marie Warder (late Evan) of Brockville, ON; also by several nieces, nephews and his extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, Barrie was predeceased by his twin sons, David Vincent and Jonathan and also his brother Paul.
Visitation will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Riverview, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Humanity Project, Moncton or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at the Moncton Hospital and to the staff of Monarch Hall in Riverview for their care.
