Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Séraphine (Sara) Bourgeois (born Cormier).
She retired in 1996, after 35 years of service for the Public Service of Canada as a language teacher at CFB St-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
Bernice will be sadly missed by her husband, Ronald Gallant; her sister, Huberte “Betty” Nicolle (late Gérald “Nick”) of Moncton; her niece, Susan and several other nieces and nephews.
A month after Bernice’s passing, her sister Claudia (late Ron) McLaren passed away.
Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her sisters, Rita Boudreau (late Émile), Florine “Flo” Poirier (late Gérald), Gerène Poirier (late Raymond Sr.) and Louise; her brothers, Clarence (late Rita Bastarache), Euclide (late Irene Ahern) and Gérard (late Cécile Levesque).
A funeral service will be held at Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus RC Church (457, Acadie Ave, Dieppe, NB) on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, at 10:30am. Father Arthur Bourgeois will be officiating.
A maximum of 75 people will be allowed in the church. The family strongly suggest that the people wear a mask for the funeral service.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
