Cocagne, NB – Bertin Hébert, 68, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Friday, January 20, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Edmond and Lorrainda (Breau) Hébert.
Bertin worked at CNR as an electrician prior to his retirement and was a member of the choir in Cocagne for 30+ years.
Besides his mother, Bertin is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis (Léger); his two children, Denise Richard (Dave) of Cocagne and Stéphane (Tania) of Moncton; his five grandchildren, Jasmine, Jeremy, Sébastien, Sara and Annabelle; his siblings, Jean-Paul (Claudette) of Shediac River, Murielle Maillet (Paul) of Waltham, Mass, Bernard (late Diana) of St-Thomas, Anne-Marie Hébert (Léonce) of Shippagan, Guy (late Lucille) of Notre-Dame, Valmon (Roberta) of Cocagne, Francine Gallant (Laurie) of Cocagne, Pauline Comeau (Adélard) of Moncton, Suzanne Cormier (Paul-Émile) and Robert (Lise) both of Cocagne. Bertin also leaves behind his in-laws, Florence LeBlanc (Paul) of Hartford, CT, Aldéi (Gisèle) of Leominster, Mass, Roger (Ginette) of Moncton, Valmond of Moncton, Raymond (Murielle) of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC; also by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Gisèle (Jean-Denis), his parents-in-law, Philippe and Émerise Léger; his sisters-in-law, Jackie, Lucille and Diana; his godson, Guy.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:20 am. Funeral service will be held at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne on January 24, 2017 at 11 am. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
