Caissie Cape, NB – Blair Bourgeois, 94, originally of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Veterans Health Center of Moncton.
Born in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Alma (Forest) Bourgeois.
Blair is survived by his wife, Germaine (Richard) Bourgeois; his daughter, Gisèle of Montreal, his son-in-law, Tom MacDonald (late Lise-Anne) of Toronto; his beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Chantal, Colin and Marc-André; his sister, Fédélice Chetwin; his brother-in-law, Léo Thibodeau; his sisters-in-law, Pauline Boudreau and Yvonne Hansen; also several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lise-Anne, his sisters, Thérèse, Georgeline and Annette.
Blair served as an Officer Aviator in the Canadian Air Force in Great Britain, during the Second World War. During the military career, he was awarded several medals for his courage and bravery. After his service in the Air Force, Blair became a commercial agent for the Forestry Products Industry, working across the country from Montréal, Québec.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. J.-M. Auffrey and to the staff of the Veterans Health Center for the exceptional care they gave Blair during the past year.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial ceremony will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, at 2 pm. Burial will take place in the spring at the Shediac Road Cemetery.
In Blair’s memory, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
