Scoudouc, NB – Cécilia Babineau, 73, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 6, 2015, after a courageous battle of a few months against cancer.

Born in Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB, she was the eldest daughter of the late Emile and Élodie (Manuel) Daigle.

Cécilia was a housewife. She loved her family and friends. Volunteering was a big part of her life. She was a scout leader for seven years and was taking care of the mass altar servers at the parish for many years. She gave nearly twenty years of voluntary work to the Club D’Age D’Or of Scoudouc.

Cécilia will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Léo-Paul Babineau; her two sons, Emilien (Lise) and Yves (Jennifer) of Dieppe; her daughter given in adoption at birth, Marie-Thérèse Latulippe (Alexis) of Neguac; her loving grandchildren, Colin, Alek, Adrien and Jacob; her eight brothers, Flavien Daigle (Gertie) of Miramichi, Hilaire (Sandra) of Napan , Emile (Diane) of Escuminac, Alvin Daigle (Antoinette), Vincent, Cyrille (Sandra), Rodrique (Rose-Mai), Bertrand (Rose-Alma) all of Baie-Sainte-Anne; her three sisters, Léola Martin (Norbert) of Dieppe, Claudette O’neil (Nornie) of Miramichi and Julieanne Gaudet (Eric) of Dieppe; also several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation on Wednesday morning. Funeral mass will be held at the St-Jacques-le-Majeur RC Church in Scoudouc on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11 am. A reception will be held at the Golden Age Club in Scoudouc following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Parish of St-Jacques le Majeur, the Chu Dumont Foundation (Oncology Dept.) would be appreciated by the family.
